The first time I ever called in sick at work when I was, in fact, quite healthy was in my first corporate job. I made the call from the side of the highway and left a message with the receptionist (pre-widespread voicemail days), the sound of big trucks whizzing by in the background... I was on my way to ski in the middle of the week.
A guy in the States today retired at the age of 100. He worked for the same transit authority for 72 years and (and this boggles) he took ONE sick day. In 72 years, one sick day. Now THAT's sick!
More proof I'm in the wrong career.

For the last 5 years, I think I have only taken a fake sick day once. I wish I could but I am saving mine for some fantabulous event. :-)
I don't think there is anything wrong with that. We are entitled to these sick leaves. :-)
hmmm Shigeki, being off work while being healthy is a fantabulous event. then you have sex in the middle of the work-day. it's good.
however it is ironic that i'm sending this email while actually taking a fake sick day.
I love irony.
don't worry...i think you do tons of things when you have day off... as much as you do at work...ha!

I liked faking to be sick. I loved the time when I was on a fake sick day until the clock pointed at 4pm. I started to feel guilty after that.
But, this happens only when you have a stable career.
Now, I rarely take a day off since the money I am putting in the education is my money unless I dispear from Canada.
I wonder if RCMP will search me world wide by owing money from OSAP and disapearing :P
Canada is only country where I have real work experience. I can't and won't escape from my own debt.
That's funny! Don't they have a retirement requirement in the States? 100 years old and still workin', that man had a crabby wife or sumthin'.
people, there are no such things as fake sick days! It's "mental health days".
