Dang, tagged.
One of those question lists, for which I can blame Bert (bertarcher.net -- sorry no Blogger features available to me so no nice hyperlink there):
1.) Name a book that you want to share so much that you keep giving away copies.
My literary proselytizing is mainly theoretical as I usually buy cloth cover and am too cheap to give my books away, or buy paperback for others, however, some years ago I bought several people Dorothy Allison's "Bastard Out of Carolina" in paperback 'cause everyone needs to read that book and people were turning their noses up at a description of the plot; more recently I've been telling others to buy Fagles' translation of The Odyssey, and currently I think everyone should have a copy of Martin's translation of Metamorphoses -- and have been lobbying three of my favourite artists to paint Phaethon in his ill fated chariot ride. Oh, and then there's any Lorna Crozier poetry collection, which I've given as gifts numerous times. Ah, "name A book..." I'll stop.
2) Name a piece of music that changed the way you listen to music.
I'm musically illiterate, and thus await such a moment.
3) Name a film you can watch again and again without fatigue.
"Hana-bi," "The Way Home," "Billy Elliot," "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer...," "Dr. Strangelove," "Cat Ballou"
4) Name a performer for whom you suspend all disbelief.
Meryl Streep, Dame Judy Dench, Takeshi Kitano.
5) Name a work of art you'd like to live with.
That question just hurts what with public galleries and my lack of cash preventing so many works finding their way to my home...
Really anything by Caravaggio, but if I must choose just one, then I choose three: "Salome receives the Head of Saint John the Baptist," "Amor Victorious," "John the Baptist (Youth with a Ram)"
6)Name a work of fiction that has penetrated your real life.
Moby Dick
7) Name a punch line that always makes you laugh.
"PS, your cunt's in the sink." (a real punch line, btw)
If my link function worked I'd tag Mark with these questions.

bastard
I'd like to hear the rest of that joke, please.
I'm afraid I'm partly to blame for all this (I'm the one what tagged Bert). But if it helps, I just got a Mac and was having big Blogger problems using the Safari browser that was pre-installed. Downloaded Mozilla Firefox and all is well in the Bloggersphere again.....
