By gawd the world was grey and beige today. Light flat through snow cloud and any suggestions of life thrown back into suspended animation by freezing temperatures. One killdeer was kil-deeringg-deering-deering and a single red-wing blackbird warning as I walked through the Rosedale Valley this afternoon, but the mud puddles were iced over and green ever so rare.
